WHO I AM 

I am a former ballet and flamenco dancer. At the age of 16 I started studying Pilates as an athletic preparation for dance and I fell in love with it. 

For a while my life took a different turn, I graduate in languages, I changed cities and work frequently, but the constant search for a physical activity that was halfway between fitness and the holistic world was always there.

During a very complex period of my life I realized that few things were helping me to get better: Pilates, Yoga and my the people I love. 

I decided to start the Pilates Matwork teacher training course in Malta at the Hot Yoga and Pilates Academy and I also follow the Pilates Props course (Pilates with the help of small tools) at FIF (Italian federation of Fitness). 

I also specialized in Pilates Barre, Pilates in Pregnancy and Pilates for hernias and scoliosis with the Italian Pilates Academy in Lucca. 

Once again with the FIF I took the diploma to teach the Pilates Reformer, one of the big machines of the discipline.

I immediately started teaching online and then in the presence both group and individual lessons sure of the fact that this discipline would have had the same benefits I had received on those who trusted me. 

In the last three years I have also practiced and studied the yoga philosophy, making it now an integral part of my approach to life.

The differences? Very few!

 

The piloga adds to the wonderful world of pilates the practice of Yoga Asanas (positions) and that little extra relaxation that will make you fall in love with the discipline! 

Both work on balance, strength, awareness of one's body, elasticity and psychophysical well-being.

PILATES IN PREGNANCY

Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful and at the same time most complex moments for a woman.
Pilates helps keep the pelvic floor strong in order to face childbirth and the recovery of the muscles. It helps keep us active and energized with exercises that are safe and appropriate for the specific trimester we're in.

WHY CHOOSING PILATES 

Pilates is the discipline of balance and coordination. It allows those who practise it to acquire greater awareness of themselves and of their body's potential. The contraction of the powerhouse (the muscles between the end of the ribcage and the pelvis) strengthens posture and betters balance and breathing. The Pilates method allows the activation of deep muscle groups, often overlooked by other disciplines, especially western ones.
Pilates helps correct bad habits concerning posture, gives greater flexibility and muscle and joint ability. Strengthens muscle tone without increasing its mass and improves breathing.
Furthermore, it is a discipline that can be modulated on different personal needs: just by varying the techniques, the intensity of the exercises and the tools which we work with.

THE HOLISTIC SIDE OF PILATES

The connection between mind and body is essential. We must be constantly focused on the exercise so that we can perform it, together with correct breathing, in the best way and with the least effort. This causes the mind to detach itself from the outside world, from routine, from everyday problems, and concentrate solely on that precise moment and on that precise activity. We are doing nothing but a meditation, which I like to call, moving one. We are here and now. Concentrated and relaxed at the same time.
